Either install Duke Nukem 3D first or have the “duke3d.grp” file anywhere on your hard drive or simply by putting your Duke 3D cd in the CD drive.
Start the installer and follow the on-screen instructions.
- If you installed Duke Nukem 3D before the HRP, you can install the HRP to the same folder you installed Duke first or use the grp installer at the end of the installation to copy the grp file.
- If you didn’t install Duke first, use the grp installer to find the grp file using the Duke Nukem 3D CD.
- If you can’t find the grp file during installation, you can just copy it to the folder you installed the HRP later.
*You WILL need “duke3d.grp” file to play the game though!*
See the instructions for Manual Installation.
Note that you can also extract all of the files to ~/Library/Application Support/EDuke32 on Mac OS X, or ~/.eduke32 on Linux.
If you want to run SD Duke, you should execute a command like the following: Note that you need the actual game grp file in order to be able to play. It may reside in one of the above paths.
/path/to/eduke32 /gsd_duke.zip /gsd_duke.grp\\
Place the files in the zip file in the same directory as the duke3d.grp file and the latest eduke32 snapshot found which can be found here http://wiki.eduke32.com/stuff/. The folder structure should in the zip file should be preserved.
Run the HRP by executing eduke32.exe or eduke32.exe /gsd_duke.zip if you want to run with the sd duke mod.
